Establishment of Occlusion Based on TMJ and Orthopedic Stability

The ideal evaluation of each patient and the ideal treatment planning without missing potential TMJ patients should be the first step of the dental treatments. Today, many studies indicate that orthopedic instability is the cause of many idiopathic crown and restoration fractures, abfractions, attritions and orthodontic relapses. In theoretical part, we will see the connection of TMJ, chewing function and occlusion, the importance of stabilizing the chewing function before any restoration or ortho treatment. Initial evaluation, planning and treatment process will be explained on treated cases.

In the pratic part, The trainer will show the method of centric relation recording with blue wax( Roth’s power centric bite registration) which is one of the most reproducible technic in centric relation. In this way, the process of splint preparation will be explained and taught.
