Tancan Uysal

In 1994, he graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry in 1999 as the first in his semester. In 2003, he completed his doctorate at Selçuk University and was appointed to Erciyes University Faculty of Dentistry as an Assistant Professor. In 2006, he received the title of Associate Professor and took administrative duties as the Founding Head of the Department, Senate Member, Vice Dean and Chief Physician of the Faculty of Dentistry at Erciyes University. In 2011, he was appointed as a professor at Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University and became one of the youngest professors in Turkey at the age of 34. Between 2010-2013, he lectured as a visiting professor at King Saud University, one of the most prestigious universities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.Prof. Uysal is on the editorial board and academic advisory board of many domestic and international journals. He was the Editor of the Turkish Journal of Orthodontics for a period.For many years, Prof. Dr. Uysal served as Advisory Board Member and then Executive Committee Member in TÜBİTAK, ARDEB, Health Sciences Research Group, and worked as Vice Rector of Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University, Interuniversity Council Member and Founding Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. Prof. Dr. Tancan Uysal has completely abandoned orthodontic treatments with fixed braces since July 2020 and started working on transparent aligner systems. In a very short time, he exceeded the thresholds of 500 patients, 1000 patients, 1500 patients and 2500 patients within the Invisalign transparent plate system. He has repeatedly received the “fastest growing orthodontic specialist of the year award”, “the doctor who treats the most adult patients of the year award”, “the doctor who treats the most comprehensive (difficult) cases of the year award”. He has thousands of transparent plate patients whose treatment is ongoing and over 1300 patients whose treatment has been completed with transparent plates. Patient satisfaction is at a high level in transparent plate treatments. In addition to routine orthodontic problems such as severe crowding, lower jaw retardation, lower jaw advancement, upper jaw narrowness, brushing teeth, separated teeth, he also prepares for surgery with Invisalign Transparent Plates. Dr. Tancan Uysal is one of the clinical trainers and speakers of Invisalign Clear aligner system in Turkey. Prof. Dr. Tancan Uysal, who has three iTero and one 3Shape three-dimensional intraoral scanners in his clinic, applies the entire digital flow process of Invisalign Transparent Plates in his clinic. He has over 300 publications and presentations, 130 of which are in SCI journals. Tancan Uysal, who is married to Endodontics Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu Uysal, speaks fluent English and beginner level German.
