Course Overview

This 2-day intensive hands-on course is designed for dentists with knowledge and clinical experience in dental implantology who wish to develop their skills in managing insufficient bone volume and challenging implant cases. The course focuses on two key clinical topics: hard tissue augmentation based on the Urban technique and open sinus floor elevation.

Theoretical Training

On the first day, the biological principles of bone augmentation, properties of graft materials, relevant surgical anatomy, and the clinical steps of hard tissue augmentation will be discussed based on current scientific literature. The second day will focus on open sinus floor elevation, covering the anatomy and clinical considerations of the maxillary sinus relevant to dental implantology, surgical principles, indications, and clinical decision-making. Theoretical sessions will be supported by 4K surgical videos, clinical photographs, current literature, and practical clinical tips designed to facilitate the application of the techniques in daily practice.

Hands-on Training

Participants will perform hands-on hard tissue augmentation procedures using real biomaterials on specially designed plastic jaw models. During the second day, each participant will perform an open sinus floor elevation procedure on a plastic jaw model and subsequently practice appropriate implant placement. This integrated approach allows participants to experience the sinus lift procedure together with implant placement, from surgical planning through to implant placement, in a structured and practical setting.
