Basic of Implant Surgery; Planning, Suturing, Incisions and Implant Application

Course Overview

This hands-on course is designed for dentists who have no previous experience or limited clinical experience in dental implant placement. The course aims to develop participants’ knowledge and practical skills in basic implant surgery in a safe and structured environment. Throughout the training, participants will learn the fundamental principles of implant surgery based on current scientific evidence and reinforce their theoretical knowledge through hands-on practice.

Theoretical Training

The course covers the evolution of dental implantology, implant design, surface characteristics, and implant materials based on current scientific literature. Hard and soft tissue anatomy of the maxilla and mandible, clinical and radiographic assessment methods, and the fundamental principles of appropriate case selection and implant treatment planning will be discussed through clinical cases. The effects of systemic conditions on implant treatment, preoperative preparation, patient communication, and postoperative care will also be addressed.

Hands-on Training

Participants will practice incision and suturing techniques on biological tissue. The proper use of the physiodispenser, implant site preparation, and implant placement protocols will be performed hands-on using realistic models designed to provide a natural tissue-like feel. Individual guidance and feedback will be provided by the instructors throughout the practical sessions.
