Free Gingival Grafting Hands On Training
Our course takes one day and it is the first step of our soft tissue management courses. Theoretical information will be given in the afternoon session and then many cases will be shared. In this course, only the cases related to Free Gingival Graft (FGG) application will be evaluated. At first, the importance of soft tissue anatomy around the tooth or dental implant area, especially mucosa, the difference of attached and keratinized gingiva, will be emphasized. Causes of gingival recession and classification will be explained. Treatment success-oriented gingival recessions will be evaluated and indications and contraindications will be discussed. Preoperative preparation and postoperative measures to be taken in terms of patient comfort and preparations will be explained. Hand tools, scalpel and suture types to be used during the surgical procedure will be shown. In the afternoon, cases where free gingival graft was applied will be discussed in the video. After the video presentations all participants will perform FGG application on sheep head. At the end of the training, a quiz and a Q & A will be considered. The training will be completed with a certificate ceremony.
