Biopsy in Oral Mucosa Pathologies

This course is the first step in the diagnosis and treatment of oral mucosal pathologies. In this course, various oral mucosa pathologies and various diagnostic methods and biopsy techniques that can be applied in the diagnosis of these pathologies will be discussed. Our course is divided into 2 parts as theoretical and hands-on. In the first part, theoretical information blended with clinical experience will be shared and then many case examples will be given. Firstly, information about the normal structure and characteristics of the oral mucosa will be given, and then special examination methods that can lead us to diagnosis other than biopsy will be explained. Then, biopsy techniques will be discussed by giving examples of various pathologies that can be observed in the oral mucosa. In the second part of our course, we will talk about the situations in which we should and should not take a biopsy and we will perform hands-on practice.
